Using DPs pencil tool to fix artifacts

I got some sessions in to mix. Originally recorded in Pro Tools using Apogee highend converters clocked by an Antelope clock. Recorded at 44.1kHz/24 bit. I imported the track files into Digital Performer to mix. First I noticed specially the drum channels are quite hot, even included some clipping. However listening through at the end I heard some cracking noises and started to investigate. Isolating the channel with issue I used the pencil tool in Digital Performer to repair the problem in the wav file. You can read about using the pencil tool in Digital Performer's waveform editor on page 300 in the DP user guide.
